Indian Love Song

There she stood with beauty and grace,
With the look of love upon her face.
She knew they shouldn't,
But her love she gave,
To her mighty courageous Indian brave.
They knew their union was fobidden,
So they kept it secret and well hidden.
Their love was as mighty as the river flows,
They were so in love,
So the story goes.
Like thunder rolling across the sky,
Their love it echoed far and wide.
They wanted each other,
No less, no more,
Love like tides, on a distant shore.

The sun shone bright on that day,
The world just ceased to exist and stay.
The mighty Manitou smiled a smile,
For the love he saw, if just for a while.
As the setting sun blazed with colour,
And the earth began it's restful sleep,
They gazed at each other, wanting no other.
This vision of love always to keep.
Holding tightly, not wanting to leave,
The thought of departing, caused her to grieve,
She wondered if she would see him again.
Dewdrops of tears fell on her dove white skin.

Eagle

As they stood so tall, shadowed by the moon,
Like beacons in the night,
They held each other close, it felt so right.
They looked upon the mirror so still,
Gentle ripples beckoning to fulfil.
They walked with love, hand in hand,
Their feet to leave this earth so grand.
The water washing their fears away,
Ne'er to part again, it was the only way.
It is said to this day when the wolf does cry,
He howls for the love that would never die.
Each ripple that washes upon the shore,
Speaks of a love, a love that lives forever more.
