It doesn't
interest me what you do for a living. The little thing I do know is what you ache for,and that you dream
of meeting your heart's longing.
I don't care
how old you are. The little thing I do know is that you will risk looking like a fool for
love, for your dreams, for the adventure of being alive.
I don't know
what planets are squaring your moon,But I know that you have touched
the center of your own sorrow. Have you been opened by life's betrayals orhave you become shriveled
and closed from fear of further pain?
The little
thing I know is that you can sit with pain, mine or your own, without moving
to hide it or fade it or fix it. I know that you can be with joy, mine or your own.
That you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill youto the
tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to becareful, be
realistic, or to remember the limitations of being human.
I know that
the story you're telling me is true. I know that you can't disappoint another to be true to yourself;that
you can't bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul.
The little
thing I know is that you can be faithful and therefore be trustworthy. The little thing I know is that you can see beauty even when it is not pretty
every day, and that you can source your life from God's presence. The little thing I know is that you can live with failure, yours and mine,
and still stand on the edge of a lake and shout to the silver of the full moon,
"Yes"!
I don't care
where you live or how much money you have. The little thing I do know is you can get up after the night of grief and
despair, weary and bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done for the children.
It doesn't
interest me who you are, how you came to be here.
The little
thing I do know is that you will stand in the center of the fire with me and
not shrink back.
It doesn't
interest me where or what or with whom you have studied. The little thing I do know is what sustains you from the inside when all
else falls away. I know that you can be alone with yourself, and that you truly like
the company you keep in the empty moments.

It's the little
things that count in this world.
Money and riches mean not a thing,
Unless you are happy and have love in your heart.
The true courage
and compassion of your soul,
The conscience that lies within,
Are the little things that will enrich your life.
The true caring
for another.
The ability to have the courage to share what's in your heart to make someone's
life meaningful.
Those are the greatest gifts you can give.
The greatest gifts
of all are the..."LITTLE
